Backing up Your Downloaded Files

Copy your Files to a CD.
The best way to backup your downloaded files is to Copy the files to a CD.

After downloading the file, if you ran the little program to unzip your files, the files were put into a Folder on your hard drive called "Vermillion". Further, a folder with the collection name (for instance "707-Victorian Samplings Collection-PCS") was created within the Vermillion folder.

All of your individual files are found within the 707-Victorian Samplings Collection-PCS folder. Now you need to select all of the files in this folder and drag them to your CD-RW Dive, in the example above, Drive G:.

NOTE: It is important to drag all of your files, both the design files (in this case the files with the pcs file extension PLUS all of the PDF files to your CD-RW Drive. In some cases, some collections may have a separate folder called "PDF Files" where all of the PDF files are stored. Be sure to open the PDF Folder and drag those files to your CD-RW drive as well.

Copy your files to Floppies. While we do not recommend backing up your files to floppies, it can be done. You will need to determine how many files will fit on a 1.44mb floppy and select and drag them to your floppy A: Drive. In this case, it looks like you could copy about 6 or 7 files to each floppy.

If you are familiar with Winzip or a similar archiving program, you could zip up groups of files to save space on your floppies.
