Missing Color Stops or Color Stops Not Needed

Be sure to keep track of which colors you have used. It can become very confusing.

One thing that works for us is we select all the colors and line them up in the order of the Color Stop PDF file. As we remove a spool from the machine, we place it in another place. Once the machine has completed stitching one color, immediately remove the spool. When you are ready to stitch the next color if there is no spool on the machine, you will know it is the next spool in line.

It also helps to mark off each color stitched when you start the stitching so you will know that the next unmarked color is where you begin.

This sounds very simplistic, but we understand how easy it is to lose your place!

Please do not color sort these designs in other software.
All the cross stitch colors stitch first, then the backstitch colors, some of which can be the same colors used above for cross stitch. Each type of stitch requires its own individual Color Stop.

When a color is used for both cross stitch and backstitch a separate Color Stop is required for the different stitches. Color Sorting will combine both types of stitches into one color stop, thereby eliminating a color stop required for the design. Our PDF file Color Stop order will no longer be correct if color sorting is done.
